Meets: First Thursday of each month at 11:30 before regular club meeting
Meetings:  1st Thursday of each month
Time and Place:  11:15 a.m. in the Youth Services Room at St. Peters Church
Our Community Services Committee serves the needs of the Del Mar and Solana Beach communities both with labor on Rotary work-day projects and with financial support of several nonprofit agencies that serve the needs of the less fortunate.  All members of the Club are encouraged to bring new opportunities of need to be addressed by the Committee.  Each member of the Committee is also encouraged to take ownership of a program.
Recent & Current Projects
  • Sponsors of two beach clean-ups in conjunction with the Del Mar Foundation for several years.
  • Support the Community Resource Center’s annual Holiday Basket food drive each year with monetary and material contributions as well as with labor to sort and fill food boxes.
  • Sponsor the Head Start Christmas party for pre-school children in Solana Beach .
  • Participate in the Salvation Army bell ringing at shopping centers.
  • Organize at least three blood drives throughout the year and meet quota at each one.
  • Supported a literacy project for Casa de Amistad with mentors, books and financial help.
  • Support the Canine Companion program that trains assistance dogs ... and have one member who is a volunteer companion-dog raiser.
  • Have a work project each year at the Allred Branch of the Boy’s & Girl’s Club.
  • Assisted with the new landscaping project at the Solana Bach Post Office with financial and manpower support.
  • Organize volunteer work parties at the “San Dieguito River Park each year.
  • Conduct work parties for painting and maintenance at St. Leo’s Clinic.

  • Provided financial assistance for the purchase of a new EKG machine for St. Leo’s Clinic.

  • Refurbished the Rotary clock at the corner of 15th St. & Camino Del Mar.

  • Volunteered at the Del Mar Art Stroll
