Wayne and LeAnn Cusick with Rotary Foundation trustee Wilfred Wilkinson
Marty Peters expressed his fond remembrance of one of his Rotary mentors, Past District Governor Wayne Cusick, who passed away October 30. He was 76 years-old Wayne had the idea for the first Paul Harris Society that was launched at the District 5340 Foundation Seminar when Marty was District Governor (RY 1997-1998). The idea was simple: create a special level of recognition for Rotarians and friends who pledge to contribute at least $1,000 annually to the Rotary Foundation. Now the Society has over 25,000 members worldwide and has raised over $30 million dollars to support RI projects. Services will be handled by El Camino Memorial in Sorrento Valley and information is forthcoming. An online guestbook is available for condolences.
