Past President Lieutenant Commandeer Tomas G. Henderson (Ret.)
We were saddened to learn of the death of our Past President, Lieutenant Commander Tomas G. Henderson (Ret.). This Rotary Year is the 30th anniversary of Tom’s 1987-1988 presidential term. Tom was born in 1935 in Eureka, California, and was a graduate of Eureka High School and the United States Naval Academy. He was a carrier pilot during the Vietnam war. After retiring from military service, Tom founded Henderson Construction Company. Tom was a vital member of the Del Mar community- in addition to his Rotary membership, he was an active member of St. Peter’s Church in Del Mar. He is survived by Lois, his wife of 57 years, his two children Laurie and Alan, and four grandchildren. His burial with full military honors will be at the Miramar National Cemetery on Friday August 11 at 9 AM, followed by a memorial at St. Peter’s Church at 1 PM.
